Girl Boss, Growth, & Gratitude

Some friends and I had this “gang” we just called GGG.
At one point we were Gnatilies Gnasty Gnats — We didn’t know a Natalie!!
And it was never the same thing twice.

At the end of 2022 a stroke of audacity hit me!
Reminiscing with my friends about what we wanted to be when we grew up, I remember telling them that I always wanted to be a designer BUT that I wanted to be a designer for musicians - doing CD covers, tour posters, and creating merch. And that’s when I had the epiphany! I may not be employed by Universal, Sony, or Warner Music, but 3 of my closest friends were actively pursuing musicianship and if I could help support them then I could DIY my way to my childhood dream!

I asked my roommate if I could photograph them at their concert at the end of January and I hit 2023 running. By spring, I was helping another local artist start building their visual brand as they prepared to drop their first single. In the summer I was asked to do promo shots and merch design for another friend's band; I also started volunteering at The Monarch to just embed myself deeper into supporting local music in whichever ways I could find.

To each and every artist and venue in between that I worked with in 2023, thank you for allowing me to give my time to you to test my skills and make my childhood dream come true!
